Avery County, the little place we call home, was all but destroyed after Hurricane Helene passed through the High Country. The massive storm left thousands without power, trapped in their homes, and many without homes at all.

Although met with tragedy, Avery County’s people pulled together to make it through. While the storm was raging and after it had passed, some gave Avery County their all. Whether it was recovery, search and rescue, supply distribution, or so much more, Avery County’s first responders were some of those very people doing just that.

This concert is first and foremost an event to give Avery County people a break from reality. In hopes that even during a few hours of music, some can ease their minds after such a long and weary couple of weeks. Secondly, Music for the Mountains is held as a benefit, which ALL proceeds will be distributed to benefit Avery County First Responders, (Fire, EMS, Police and more) that were critically impacted by Helene.

As mentioned, some of these folks lost everything, yet instead of worrying about their own losses, they dropped everything to go out and help others. These are the folks we plan to help first. Although it may not be a huge impact, we wanted to do SOMETHING, to help make a difference in the lives of those who gave all they could and put Avery County first.
